Secretary General: Thomas Kazakos   

 

The Secretary General is responsible for the overall supervision of the Secretariat’s work and staff.  He also organises and follows up the work of the Executive Committee, and lobbies Government Ministries and Departments, Members of Parliament, Political Parties and other professional bodies.  Deals with European Union issues and represents the Council at various Committees of international shipping organisations (ISF, ICS, ECSA and ILO).  Acts also, as Policy Adviser on the Council Committees/Sub-Committees, especially on the Law and Finance and Public Relations Committees. Furthermore, together with the Council President, act as the Council’s main Press and Media Spokesman.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Deputy Secretary General / Marine Manager: Alexandros Josephides

 

The Marine Manager is responsible for technical, marine and commercial issues.  He follows up the work of the Technical, Manning and Training and the Passenger Ship Committees, as well as most of the various as-hoc Working Groups.  Similarly, on the international front, the Marine Manager follows up all relevant developments on marine and technical matters and conveys same to the appropriate Council’s Committees/Sub-Committees. In addition, as Deputy Secretary General, he deputises for the Secretary General  on external Council matters and Secretariat issues, such as the supervision of the work of the two Executive Officers of the Council.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Executive Officer: Panayiotis Hannas

 

Responsible for the organisation and co-ordination of the Marine, Manning and Training and Public Relations Committees as well as of Working Groups, the drafting of reports, minutes of committee meetings and liaising with Governmental and other professional bodies. He also deals with internal administrative matters and is responsible for IT matters affecting the Secretariat internally. In addition, he acts as editor of the Council’s monthly Newsletter and is responsible for the editing of various Council publications.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Executive Officer: Sophoclis Constantinou           

Responsible for the organisation and co-ordination of the Law and Finance and Passenger Ship Committees as well as of Working Groups, the drafting of reports minutes of committee meetings and liaising with Governmental and other professional bodies on all legal and legislative matters affecting the Council. In addition, he deals with various internal administrative matters affecting the Council's Secretariat.

 

 

Training Officer: Ben Casey

 

He exclusively deals with the administration and monitoring of the Training Schemes for Office Personnel organised by the Council, in co-operation with the Cyprus Branch of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers.  The courses offered are, the one-year ‘Understanding Shipping’ Course and the three-year “Tutorship” Course.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Executive Administrator / P.A. to the Secretary General: Lefki Panayiotidou

 

The Executive Administrator is responsible for the supervision of the secretarial staff, and is the Personal Assistant to the Secretary General. She is also responsible for the organisation of all the Council’s social and business functions.  She also deals with office administration matters.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Administrative Assistant: Amalia Kyriakou
