International Recognition for the
Cyprus Shipping Chamber
ICS Annual General Meeting

A large number of shipowners and shipmanagers’ associations from all over the world, attended the Annual General Meeting of the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS), which was held in Port Douglas, Queensland, in Australia, between 24-25 May 2012.
During the meeting, the Immediate Past President of the Cyprus Shipping Chamber, Capt. Dirk Fry was re-elected for another year as one of the four Vice-Presidents of the International Chamber of Shipping, thus showing the high recognition the Cyprus Shipping Chamber is enjoying among the International Shipping community, an achievement, which is considered to be a very big success for Cyprus Shipping in general.
The main discussion topics of the ICS Annual General Meeting included Piracy, the measures to be taken by the International Shipping Industry to reduce even further the amounts of green house gas emissions, and Ballast Water Management.
The Director General of the Cyprus Shipping Chamber, Mr. Thomas Kazakos, represented the Cyprus Shipping Industry at this important meeting.
