The work of the Executive Committee on more technical matters is assisted by five Committees which are:
Law and Finance
Committee Supervises the work of the Labour Affairs, Finance and Commercial / Chartering Sub-Committees, as well as the work of any Working Group set up to discuss any particular issue.
a) Commercial / Chartering Sub-Committee Chairman - Mr. Holger Pittelkau (Hanseatic Shipping Co. Ltd.) Vice-Chairman - Capt. Joseph Jodephides (Marlow Navigation Co. Ltd.) Considers commercial and chartering matters particularly the formation of different shipping related documents. b) Finance Sub-Committee Chairman - Mr. Soterios Karantonis (Uniteam Marine Ltd.) Vice-Chairman - Mr. Michael Ioannides (Admibros Ship Management Co. Ltd.) Reviews financial and taxation matters related to shipping both at national and international level. c) Labour Affairs Sub-Committee Chairman - Capt. Eberhard Koch (Reederei Austria Eberhard Koch (Cyprus) Ltd.)
Vice-Chairman - Mr. Alfred
von der Hoeh (Marlow Navigation Co. Ltd.) Examines legal and labour affairs matters related to Shipping on a European and International level.
Deals with issues affecting seafarers' training, certification and recruitment.
Marine Committee Overall Chairman - Mr. Robert Thompson (Unicom Management Services (Cyprus) Ltd.) Considers the policy of various technical issues affecting the ship. Also, supervise the work of the Technical, Safety and Quality, and ICT Sub-Committees, as well as the work of any Working Group set up to discuss any particular issue. a) Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Sub-Committee Chairman - Mr. Adonis Violaris (Hanseatic Shipping Co. Ltd.) Vice-Chairman - Mr. Savvas Lambidonitis (Columbia Shipmanagement Ltd.) Examines various IT and Communication matters affecting the ship and the shipping companies.b) Safety and Quality Sub-Committee Chairman - Capt. Keith Obeyesekera (Reederei "NORD" Klaus E. Oldendorff Ltd.) Vice-Chairman - Capt. Bill Lunn (Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement (Cyprus) Ltd.)
Deals with various safety and quality issues as well as with the collection of statistics on accidents onboard ships managed by Council’s Members.
c) Technical Sub-Committee Chairman - Mr. Philippos Philis (Lemissoler Shipping Group PLC) Vice-Chairman - Mr. Erwin Derlagen (Reederei "NORD" Klaus E. Oldendorff Ltd.)
Examines in detail various technical issues affecting the ship.
Passenger Ship Committee Considers matters concerning passenger / cruise ships and Cyprus Ports.
Deals with Members' relations and Council's business and social functions. Also, the Committee supervises the work of the Day of the Sea, Educational Activities, and PR Activities Working Groups.
